Is Pressé free to use?
Yes. Pressé is completely free, with no account, sign-up, or watermark. You can compress unlimited images and audio files.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Pressé processes every file locally in your browser using the Canvas and Web Audio APIs. Your images and audio never leave your device and are never uploaded, stored, or seen by anyone.
Does Pressé work offline?
Yes. All compression happens in your browser and the page loads no external resources, so Pressé keeps working with no internet connection once the page has loaded.
What image and audio formats does Pressé support?
For images you can input JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP, and HEIC where your browser supports it, and output WebP, JPEG, PNG, or keep the original format. For audio it accepts MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, and FLAC and re-encodes to MP3.
Does Pressé keep my original filenames?
Yes. Every file keeps its exact original name — no “-compressed”, “(1)”, or counters are ever added. Only the extension changes if you choose a different output format.
Can I compress many files at once?
Yes. Pressé is built for bulk compression. You can drag in hundreds of images or audio files at once, or drop an entire folder, and download them all as a single ZIP.
Will compressing reduce quality?
You control the trade-off. A quality slider for images or a bitrate setting for audio balances size against quality, and an optional target file size automatically finds the right setting for each file.
Does Pressé remove EXIF and metadata?
Yes. Re-encoding through the Canvas API strips EXIF, GPS location, and other metadata by default, while still correcting photo orientation so images are not rotated.
Does Pressé work on my phone?
Yes. Pressé is fully responsive and runs in any modern mobile browser on iPhone and Android, with no app to install.
Can I generate QR codes with Pressé?
Yes. The QR code tab turns any text or link into a QR code with a live preview. You can set the colours, size, and error-correction level, add a logo in the centre, and download as PNG or crisp SVG. A bulk mode turns a list of links into a zip of QR codes, and everything is generated in your browser.
Is there a file size or number-of-files limit?
Pressé imposes no hard limit. The only practical limits are your device's available memory and processing speed, since everything runs locally.
Can I add a watermark to my images?
Yes. In Images mode you can add a text watermark built from any combination of a name, a word or symbol, and a year, or upload your own logo image. You choose its position, size, and opacity, and it is applied to every image as it is compressed.
